On this live question and answer video, I dealt with the question: “Is God judging America?” Then we discussed the rapture in Matthew 24, how to know if you have the gift of healing, are governmental leaders all appointed by God, good books to read, are Roman Catholics our brothers and sisters in Jesus, is repentance necessary for salvation, and more!
Here’s the eight principles of judgment that I mentioned. If you suggest additional principles, please leave them in the comments!
- God has the right to judge individuals, communities, nations. John 5:22: “For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son.”
-
When God brings judgment against a community or a nation, there are some who are relatively innocent who are under that judgment.
-
It is often very difficult to tell if a particular event or series of events are the direct judgment of God when the events happen. Things also happen because we simply live in a fallen world, and without an obvious or direct meaning from God’s hand.
-
It is cruel to say a terrible event is due to the judgment of God when it is not (as in Job).
-
God will use strange things as the instruments of His judgment (as in Habakkuk).
-
The judgments of God are settled in eternity – not necessarily in this life.
-
The judge of all the earth will do what is right. Genesis 18:25: “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?”
-
Judgment begins at the house of God. 1 Peter 4:17: “For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God.”
